FAQs

Reading reviews on Raating.com is completely free and open to everyone. However, if you'd like to share your own experience, you'll need to create a user account.

Having an account allows you to manage your reviews — whether you're posting something new, making edits, or choosing to delete a review. It also enables Raating.com to keep in touch with you about your activity, such as when a business responds to your feedback or asks for more details about your experience.

Each review on our platform is tied to a verified user account with a valid email address. You can sign up using your email or log in through supported third-party services like Google, Facebook, or Apple.

You’ll also be able to customize your profile with a username and image. Just make sure your profile doesn’t impersonate others, promote a business, or include any content that’s offensive or inappropriate. We also encourage users to securely verify their identity — it’s an easy way to contribute to a more trustworthy community.

You’re free to delete your Raating.com account at any time. Even after deleting your account, you’ll still be able to browse the platform and read reviews — but you won’t be able to write or manage your own reviews anymore.

Most users engage with Raating.com in the spirit it was designed for: to share honest, helpful feedback that benefits both consumers and businesses. However, misuse of the platform isn’t allowed. This includes, for example:

  • Repeatedly posting abusive or harmful reviews

  • Threatening or harassing businesses

  • Copying or extracting data from the site for commercial purposes (also known as “data scraping”)

If a user violates these rules, we may take action — such as limiting account features, suspending access, or, in serious cases, pursuing legal remedies.

For more detail on what’s not allowed and how we respond, please see our Actions We Take policy.

If any part of your profile — such as your username, profile photo, or other account information — isn’t accurate, you can easily update it anytime by visiting your account settings.

Should you decide to delete your account, please note that this action is permanent and will remove all your reviews and activity from Raating.com.

To keep our community fair and transparent, each person is allowed only one user account. If you've unintentionally created more than one, reach out to us and we’ll help merge them into a single profile.

At Raating.com, anyone aged 18 or older who has had a real, recent experience with a business is welcome to share their feedback. A valid experience doesn’t always mean a purchase — it could be an interaction like a phone call, an email exchange, a live chat, or even browsing an online store without buying anything. Generally, we consider “recent” to mean within the past 12 months.

Reviews must come from your own personal experience, unless you're legitimately helping someone who can't post themselves — such as a caregiver writing on behalf of someone in their care.

We do not permit reviews that are influenced by incentives. If you’ve received — or been promised — anything in exchange for a review (such as a discount, gift, refund, promotional offer, entry into a contest, or any other benefit), you’re not eligible to post it here.

You're also not allowed to write a review if you have a close connection to the business, including being the owner, employee, family member, shareholder, or a direct competitor. This is to protect the integrity and honesty of our community and prevent biased reviews — whether positive or negative.

No invitation is needed. Raating.com is an open platform, so you’re free to leave a review whenever you’ve had a genuine experience with a business — whether or not the business asked you to.

That said, businesses are also welcome to invite their customers to share feedback. When they do, we expect them to follow our Guidelines for Businesses, which include requesting reviews in a fair, neutral way that encourages honest opinions — not just positive ones.

A helpful review gives others — both potential customers and the business — a clear view of your experience. It explains what went well, what didn’t, and why you gave the star rating you did. Try to include specific, relevant details about your interaction with the business or the product, and focus on recent experiences so readers get an up-to-date perspective.

Raating.com is a neutral platform created to help people share honest feedback based on real service or product experiences. It’s not the place for general opinions or unrelated commentary. Reviews that are vague, off-topic, or unhelpful may be hidden from visibility, flagged, or removed.

If there’s a disagreement between you and the business, we remain impartial. We don’t step in to resolve factual disputes unless legally required to do so.

Yes — since you’re the author, you have full control over your reviews. You can edit or delete them anytime through your Raating.com account.

If your experience with a business changes — for example, if an issue gets resolved or your opinion shifts — we encourage you to update your review to reflect that. However, this is entirely your choice, and no business should pressure you to make changes.

You're also welcome to write a new review if you've had a different, separate experience with the same business. If you post more than one review, they’ll be grouped together on the business’s page, with the most recent one displayed first. Only your latest review will count toward the business’s overall rating.

Fake reviews are reviews that don’t reflect a real experience with a business — whether positive or negative. They’re often created to mislead others, distort a business’s reputation, or manipulate consumer perception.

Raating.com has zero tolerance for fake reviews. They break our rules, damage trust across the community, and in many cases, may be against the law. Writing fake reviews — or asking others to write them — is strictly prohibited.

To keep our platform reliable, we take a three-layered approach to detecting and removing fake reviews:

  • Technology: Our systems automatically analyze reviews using advanced behavioral and pattern recognition tools — not just the content but how, when, and from where reviews are posted.

  • Custom tools: We use internal tools tailored to spot suspicious patterns and misuse that aren’t always visible in the content itself.

  • Human oversight: Our Trust & Safety team provides expert review, stepping in where human judgment is needed to support our automated systems.

All reviews go through automated checks before they appear publicly. If we detect a fake review, we’ll remove it and take appropriate action under our Actions We Take policy.

Yes, businesses may ask you for additional details such as your email, order number, name, or phone number to better understand your experience and, if needed, to get in touch to resolve any issues.

If you decide to respond and share this information, it will be provided directly to the business. This is especially helpful if you left a review without being invited, as the business may not have your contact information otherwise.

Raating.com supports these interactions to encourage constructive communication between consumers and businesses. However, you are under no obligation to share your details if you prefer to keep them private.

Please note, if you choose not to provide the requested information, the business may flag your review. In such cases, we will review the situation and might reach out to you for further information to confirm your experience.

Yes! Every review on Raating.com features a flag icon that lets you report content you believe violates our guidelines. While we use advanced technology and a dedicated team to spot and prevent inappropriate reviews before they appear, we know some may slip through.

Both consumers and businesses are encouraged to report reviews that don’t follow the rules by clicking the flag icon below the review or contacting our Content Integrity Team directly.

We appreciate your help in keeping Raating.com trustworthy, but please use the flagging feature responsibly — repeatedly flagging the same review without reason is not allowed.

You can also view how businesses have flagged reviews in the past year on their Company Activity page.
